Industries & ongoing maintenance

Built for Tasmania.
Maintained for the long run.

Telecommunications, new-development infrastructure and specialist field services, from the first site plan to ongoing inspections, fault support and upgrades.

AWDW Solutions is an Aboriginal-owned Tasmanian contractor. We work with builders, utilities, schools and industrial operators, coordinating licensed electrical work with independent local trade partners when a project needs both disciplines.

Where we can help

Practical solutions for working sites.

Each job is scoped around the actual location, asset owner requirements, available qualifications and the other trades involved. These examples describe suitable work packages, not claims of contracts with the organisations or sectors mentioned.

01 / New development

NBN pathways & new developments

Support for residential subdivisions and multi-dwelling developments where communications and electrical work must be planned side by side. AWDW already supports developer-side NBN infrastructure planning and coordination.

  • Developer-side pit, conduit and lead-in planning
  • Application and drawing support, installation coordination and as-built information
  • Communications cabling and related field work within applicable approvals
  • Coordination with licensed electrical installers for power and site services

All nbn designs, works and connections remain subject to nbn requirements and the authorisations of the party undertaking each task.

02 / Education & facilities

School & facility maintenance

Plan practical communications maintenance and minor upgrades around a school's timetable or a facility's operational needs. Licensed electrical services can be arranged with independent trade partners.

  • Data outlets, communications racks and Wi-Fi infrastructure
  • Network-connected CCTV and equipment fault checks
  • Agreed periodic inspections, findings reports and scoped rectification works
  • School-holiday and out-of-hours works by arrangement
Discuss facilities maintenance →
03 / Energy & utilities

Critical infrastructure communications

Field delivery and ongoing care of the communications that support power, renewable energy and other utility sites across Tasmania.

  • Radio links, fibre and site communications cabling
  • Cabinets, antennas and permitted communications power work
  • Access, inspections and planned technical maintenance
  • Specialist licensed electrical work coordinated separately

04 / Industrial & commercial

Sites that need reliable connections

Communications and supporting electrical works for factories, workshops, warehouses, accommodation facilities and other working environments.

  • Data and fibre infrastructure, including testing
  • Wireless site links, network cabinets and CCTV connectivity
  • Maintenance visits, repairs and upgrades
  • Coordinated fit-outs with licensed electrical trades

05 / Water & regional assets

Remote monitoring connectivity

Help connect the infrastructure behind water, irrigation, environmental monitoring and agricultural operations without requiring AWDW to provide an entire IT platform.

  • Wireless links between remote assets and buildings
  • Communications for existing telemetry and sensor systems
  • Site visits, enclosures, testing and fault investigations
  • Electrical supply undertaken by suitably licensed contractors
Discuss remote connectivity →
06 / Mining & difficult locations

Remote and industrial field services

Telecommunications work in rugged and regional environments where safe access, sensible logistics and dependable technical documentation matter.

  • Microwave and radio equipment and alignment
  • Tower and antenna works within site access authorisations
  • Communications maintenance and fault support
  • Height-safety systems and inspections within certification scope

New developments · practical site coordination

From site drawings to documented handover.

For multi-dwelling projects and subdivisions, communication pathways are easier to plan alongside the rest of the site works. The process below describes the stages AWDW can discuss with developers; approvals and installation responsibilities are confirmed for each project.

  1. 01

    Review the site

Discuss the lot or dwelling layout, existing nbn infrastructure, proposed civil works, access constraints and project timing.

  2. 02

    Agree the design pathway

Scope developer-side application support, conduit and pit routes, lead-in locations, drawings and any approvals required.

  3. 03

    Coordinate field works

Plan the communications tasks with the builder, civil contractors and separately licensed electrical trades when the project requires them.

  4. 04

    Document and support

Agree relevant inspection records, handover information, as-builts and any future maintenance or rectification scope.

Not just a build contractor

Maintain, inspect and improve.

New installations are one part of the job. We also discuss recurring site visits, inspections, faults and future upgrades so existing infrastructure keeps serving its purpose. Regular maintenance can be arranged as a defined scope rather than a promise of always-on IT support.

01

Scheduled site care

Agree a sensible inspection frequency, access plan and reporting scope for communications assets and supporting field equipment.

02

Faults and rectification

Investigate agreed faults, identify actions and quote rectifications that are within available capability and site authorisation.

03

Upgrades and extensions

Plan the next data outlet, antenna, site link or electrical upgrade with the appropriate contractor, rather than starting from scratch.

Maintenance schedules, response windows, trade licences, school access, travel and any after-hours attendance are confirmed in each agreement. No blanket emergency response promise is made.

Independent specialists, coordinated on site

Telecommunications alongside licensed electrical work.

AWDW already supports developer-side NBN planning and coordination. Where a site also needs licensed electrical works, we can discuss suitable delivery alongside independent contractors such as Laning Electrical, including future school, commercial and remote-site maintenance. Each business remains independent and responsible for its own contracted work, qualifications and supervision.

AWDW Solutions

Telecommunications, approved cabling tasks, radio and wireless equipment, technical inspections, field documentation and maintenance support.

Licensed electrical trades

Electrical supply, circuits, connections, testing and corrective work handled by properly licensed contractors, including Laning Electrical when scope and availability suit.

Work involving electrical apprentices is planned and supervised through their employing electrical contractor and the applicable Tasmanian rules. Specialist tasks requiring further endorsements or access approval are assessed before commitment.

Common questions

Planning a development or maintenance program?

Can AWDW assist with NBN requirements for a new development?

We can discuss developer-side application support, layouts, pit and conduit coordination, suitable field work and as-built documentation. Final design acceptance and construction requirements are governed by nbn standards and any applicable authorisations.

Can electrical and telecommunications work be coordinated?

Yes. On suitable projects we can discuss work packages alongside independent licensed electrical contractors such as Laning Electrical. Each business is responsible for its own trade scope, supervision and compliance.

Do you only carry out new installations?

No. We can discuss scheduled communications maintenance, site inspections, fault investigations and upgrades, with service intervals and response arrangements agreed for each client.

Can you work at schools and regional sites?

We can discuss suitable school, commercial and remote-site works across Tasmania, subject to permits, safeguarding, inductions, site access and available resources.
